Building Project Update

The PCC was ready to submit its full application to the National Lottery Heritage Fund in June last year, but as a result of Covid-19, the Lottery froze new applications. We are now ready to resubmit our application as Lottery funding has reopened. Unfortunately the entry requirements have changed  so we have been asked to reapply from the beginning. This feels like a game of Snakes and Ladders where we were halfway across the board but have slid down a snake to square one. The extra regulations require that the project is eco-friendly and Covid-19 resilient but we believe we are compliant.

Our professional manager, James Mellish, is able to modify our original application to satisfy the new requirements and we hope to resubmit soon. The project, to remind you, includes a toilet extension, servery, air pump and radiant electric heating, replace pews with chairs, redecorate and complete repairs noted in our last quinquennial inspection.

If all goes well, we hope to hear from the Lottery within three months and possibly start building within six months.
