Bridge over A47 Named in Memory of Valerie Knights

On Tuesday 25 August, a new bridge taking the B1140 over the new dual carriageway was named ‘Knights Bridge’ in honour of past Churchwarden of our church, Valerie Knights MBE. Mrs Knights, who lived on the A47 at North Burlingham, had campaigned tirelessly for road safety measures at the B1140 junction by the new bridge, and spent a lifetime dedicating herself to the needs of others. Valerie came to the aid of 100 motorists in incidents on the road before the recent improvements. Mrs Knights’ family gathered to unveil a plaque on the bridge in her honour.
